So. Suggestions on how to advertise for new members while we await jdoops asylum for us?

there's no point advertising right now when the site is the way it is. gotta clean the place up and finish off the forum before you can begin to even think about advertising to new members.. few suggestions.

• open up the whole site for guests, just don't allow posting. new users are going to come on here, see the forum has a grand total of 17 users on a forum with a shit skin and one forum type, the MD. that isn't going to make them want to sign up.
  
  
• clean up the grammar of the front page. don't wanna be presenting a sloppy product, take care of the forums and keep them tidy.
  
  
• involvement. why would any new members want to post when all of the topics so far are a bunch of long term ebuddies conversing in their own brand of e-lingo? they don't know what the fuck you're talking about, or involved in any running jokes you got going on. i'm not saying baby them, just simple threads like sports predictions to start them off.

that didn work for dotnet. all the members just lurked until something bad happened and then decided to log in to post.

i kinda just laughed when i found this site and seen just the MD was available tho'. i think opening it up is a bit more appealing than keeping everything shut, especially in the embryo phase. once you got a good core then i'd be more inclined to put more limitations on guests.
